劉嗡 mentioned a retirement security/assurance scheme in which the retirement age goes up one-for-one with the average longevity. My gut feel is that one year of extra life does not equate to one extra year of useful working life. Just because a person can work/can find work tilll sixty five when he or she is expected to live till 80 does not mean work is still viable at seventy five when the average longevity reaches ninety. Much of the extended life can be attributed to advances in medical science which make it harder to die but does not promse the patient is able to work.
